September and My New Front Door Wreath

Added a 'little something' to my door yesterday.  Today I hope to find a new door mat and a few freshening up things for my entryway.  It is also my daughter's 14th Birthday tomorrow and I am busy putting together a few surprises for her.  Maybe in a few days, I will show you some progress shots of another painting I have started.  Until then...

I found this wonderful little poem and wanted to share it with you.  Take a moment to enjoy...

September

The breezes taste
     Of apple peel.
The air is full
     Of smells to feel-
Ripe fruit, old footballs,
     Burning brush,
New books, erasers,
     Chalk, and such.
The bee, his hive,
     Well-honeyed hum,
And Mother cuts
     Chrysanthemums.
Like plates washed clean
     With suds, the days
Are polished with
     A morning haze.

-John Updike

Have a wonderful Tuesday!

Fall is my favorite season, and all the beautiful Fall wreaths are one reason for that. Love your new front door, it looks great.
