Master Bedroom |
Splash of yellow. Mellow Yellow. Lemon Drop Yellow. Yellow Submarine ...what?! Well, you get the idea. I am taking yellow people. Last month, I
revealed my new master bedroom with it's wonderful whites and pale yellow walls. Well....I wanted to spruce up the patio keeping in a similar color theme, only popping it up with yellow accents.
If you read my
blog on Monday, you will recall that I wanted to complete the patio project in one day. I ran into some snags and it has taken me a few days to get to the point of a reveal. For example, one snag I have had is a GFI is blown making the completion the water garden impossible. Regardless, with patience and endurance, I have made a lot of progress and want to show you how awesome it looks!
First the before images.....

The view on the patio from the master. Nothing special.
Junk laying around that needed to be cleared. |
|
Unloved patio. Good furniture to start with, just plain. |

Cute little cafe table, only the wrong color. |
So....my daughter and I headed out to shop for some fresh stuff and think of ideas. We returned home with mostly ideas, not a lot of fresh stuff. While we were out, I remembered that I had some pretty cool vintage sheets in my collection in yellow prints and I knew they would be perfect for pillow covers. I did find some neat bright solid colored square pillows at Target and a few place mats too.
I had been looking around the Internet for inspiration and saw a lot of outdoor drapery that I thought was divine. I picked up simple white sheer panels on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond. In so many of those inspiration images, I also saw interesting chandeliers. I remembered that I had in storage a super cool vintage chandy with flowers that were.....you guessed it, yellow! Yeah! I did a drive-by of Lowes for some yellow spray paint for the cafe table and headed home.
After sewing the pillows covers, spray painting the cafe table set and hanging the chandelier, I collected whatnots from around the house that I thought would go well. I then headed back to Lowes and picked up a few fresh plants to place around.
These following images were taken at dusk and have a little noise in them, but I wanted to capture the space with the glow of the chandelier. Hope you enjoy!

No more red cafe set....Mellow Yellow. |

Notice the neat vintage
pillow case neck roll. |

Whooose that?!! Could that be Woodsy?!! |
|
Detail. Love the yellow Hibiscus. |

The chandy has finally found a home! |
I still have a few more details to work on that aren't pictured here. The water garden corner must wait for the electrician to arrive to repair the GFI. (Another hidden mishap due to the flood.) When I complete that, I will show you. Hanging the white sheers was quite the undertaking. I used two huge pieces of bamboo that I had and used some jute to tie them into position. Perhaps I will show those details in another post soon. I hope you enjoyed seeing my awesome happy yellow patio! It took me a little longer.....but hey, sometimes that just happens.
